  • CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) course includes 75 hours of classroom study, plus 100 hours supervised clinical training in a Missouri state approved long-term care facility as required by Missouri Health & Senior Services. The student must complete 75 classroom hours, 100 clinical hours, successfully pass both the knowledge and skills certification exam within 1 year of training start date. 

    *Information technology proficiency is not required

    1. Student must be at least 18 years of age.
    2. Proof of current Tuberculosis test (within 6 mos. prior to class start date maximum) must be provided to the instructor the first night of class.
    3. Registration with Family Care Safety Registry is required.
    4. A Social Security Number is required for enrollment.
  • Step 1

    Submit Application with Fee to Franklin Technology Center

    In order to be considered for admission into Franklin Technology Center, the first step in the process is to receive an application packet and complete the following:

    • Must be at least 18 years of age
    • Read the program sheet
    • Social Security Number is required to complete application
    • Return signed application form, consent forms if applicable, and the $787 tuition and course fee’s in full to the address below or submitted online at franklintechnologycenter.com.

     

    Step 2

    Registration

    You must register with Family Care Safety Registry. This will be covered by your instructor the first night of class. 

     

    Step 3

    Acceptance into Program

    The Program Coordinator will send out a letter of acceptance, personal email, or contact via phone upon acceptance into the program.

     

    Step 4

    Orientation

    All students will be required to attend orientation prior to the first day of class. Students will be contacted regarding program-specific orientation date, time and location after acceptance.

     

    Step 5

    Tuberculosis Test

    Results of CURRENT Tuberculosis test MUST be submitted (within 6 months prior to class start date at maximum) on the first night of class to Instructor.

    *Disclaimer: The programs and courses require a minimum number of students in order for the classes to be offered.

    1. Tuition and course fees of $795.
    2. Students are required to wear scrubs at their own expense (no specific color or pattern). Scrubs must be worn during all classes, clinical training, and testing
    3. Complete 75 hours of in-class instruction and 100 hours of supervised clinical training in a state-authorized facility
    4. This course is not eligible for financial aid
    5. 100% attendance is required
    6. 8 tests are given and student must score an 80% or above on 3 tests.
    7. Refund Policy:  If a class is cancelled by Franklin Technology Center, a full refund will be given.  If an enrollee cancels or drops a class on or after the start date, see Student Handbook for Refund Policy.
  • Quality classroom instruction combined with hands-on experience is provided during the 3-month CNA program.

     Jodi Stewart

    Jodi Stewart - RN Diploma Program Administrator/Practical Nursing Adjunct Instructor/CNA Instructor

    Education: Fort Scott Community College- ADN

    MSSU- BSN

    Pittsburg State University- MSN

    Jodi Stewart has been a Registered Nurse since 2009. Her experience in nursing includes Medical/Surgical, Ortho/Neuro, wound care, post-partum, home health and hospice, and most recently being a school nurse. She discovered her love for teaching early in her nursing career after being asked to precept for nurses in clinical rotations and train new nurses to the facilities she worked. Jodi graduated with her ADN from Fort Scott Community College in 2009, with her BSN from MSSU in 2017, and with her MSN with education emphasis from Pittsburg State University in 2019. Jodi is the instructor for the Fundamentals/IV Therapy, and Nursing of the Adult Nutrition classes.

    Jodi and her husband have seven children between them and she loves spending time with their kids. They enjoy traveling and exploring new places. Their family moved to Joplin in 2015 from Southeast Kansas and continue to love it here. Her hobbies include reading, dancing with the kids, and singing along to the radio.
